Description

Carting class is for training your dog to pull a size appropriate wagon or cart. We start slowly with the dog in harness only, desensitizing him to the feel of the harness and the noise and motion of other dog’s carts. In three or four classes dogs are usually pulling their cart comfortably. Past and present students join our carting group, decorate their carts, and participate in local parades and fairs. Carting is a good outlet for working dogs that aren’t getting enough exercise chasing a ball or walking. Shy dogs can gain confidence, and bouncy dogs often settle while carting.

Requirements

Dogs need to be beginning graduates and 1 year old. Bring dog’s vaccination records to first class. You will need to purchase a harness, shafts and a cart for this class. We will use a regular buckle collar and a 6-foot or shorter leash for training.
